Institutions must assign one Coach and one Assistant Coach per team (STEM educators preferred).
Institutions must dedicate a minimum of 4 hours of supervised project work per week per team.
A minimum of 60 guided student hours per academic year is required.
Institutions are responsible for ensuring full team attendance at the National Competition Event (in-person or virtual).
Coaches are responsible for managing student attendance, project progress, safety, and overall team performance.
Photos and videos of the project and Smart City model (excluding student faces) may be used for official program documentation and promotion.
Institutions must provide a minimum of one computer (two preferred) capable of supporting block-based coding and IoT integration. Chromebooks are not permitted.
Stable internet connectivity is required to support IoT systems.
A dedicated workspace must be provided for the team.
Basic materials must be supplied for Smart City model development.
IT support must be available for device setup and network configuration.
Participants must be students in Grades 10–12.
Parent or guardian consent is required for participation.
